2025 Australian Kodály Certificate – Primary One & Primary Two
Join us in 2025 and further your music education career. Complete the next steps towards receiving your accredited Australian Kodály Certificate and gain the skills and knowledge to deliver a sequential, developmental, and aural-based music curriculum. In this rigorous course, you will undertake studies in Musicianship, Primary Pedagogy, Materials, Practicum, Conducting and Choir.
There will be nine Monday evening zoom classes (6:15pm to 8:15pm) and three in-person intensive study weekends. Participants must attend all zooms and the three study weekends in Townsville ( at Pimlico SHS) to complete the course. We are excited to announce that in 2025, Kodály Queensland will be offering a travel bursary in the form of highly subsidised course fees to all current financial Kodály Queensland Members who live 200+km away from Townsville (proof of residency required). If you would like to check your membership is current, you can do so by following the instructions on the Kodály Australia Membership Portal.
Course prices, class dates and contact hours can be found in the details below.
Please note: it is an expectation of the course for all AKC students to be current financial Kodály Australia Members. Details about how to join/renew membership can be found via the Kodály Australia Website.
$495.00 – $1,570.00
Students can enrol for assessment or for audit.
- Assessment students complete all assessments and receive detailed feedback on all their tasks. There is also a 100% attendance expectation for the course.
- Audit students do not complete any assessment, are able to observe all lectures and there isn’t any participation expectation.
Completing an Australian Kodály Certificate Level Course requires participants to complete regular assessment tasks. Setting aside time each week to keep up to date with homework and practice means that you won’t have overdue tasks towards the end of the course.
Certificates are provided at completion, showing up to 60 hours of professional development. Please note: audit students will only be provided certificates for verified attendance at online lectures and/or in-person weekends.
The courses are designed to be sequential and developmental in nature, so levels are to be undertaken in order – you must have completed Level One before undertaking Level Two. To find out more about the curriculum, go to https://kodaly.org.au/akc/curriculum/
